Welcome to Eddie Choi Hockey Inc.

NHL great Doug Gilmour says this guy’s a great hockey instructor and lauds him as a positive role model for young and aspiring players: Meet Eddie Choi, the wonderfully motivating and charismatic force behind the power-skating and hockey school bearing his name. “Hockey reveals character,” shares Coach Eddie who specializes in hockey training in Toronto. “This is a game that asks for the best you have the offer. In return, you’ll be left with the kind of self-reliance that makes almost anything possible when you put your mind to it. Playing hockey provides as invaluable opportunity to learn about what it takes to succeed on the ice – and in life.”

Eddie Choi has played against Kariya, Lindros, Blake and Emerson. He’s set NCAA records and he’s been over 20,000 students come through the doors of his hockey school since 1988. “To maximize each student’s learning, we guarantee smaller classes,” says Eddie of his school’s enormous success. “Our students never get lost in the crowd because our hockey program takes each player’s needs into close consideration. All players are unique in character and style and we encourage their unique and individual statements on the ice. Our commitment also extends to the environment in which our players play and learn. Our 100% or nothing and Academics ‘n Athletics philosophies are really a combination of the following: the elimination of negative attitudes, the emphasis on the importance of discipline, and increasing skills to allow players to play hockey to the very best of their ability. I am training players today to become future stars of tomorrow.”

Certainly an inspiration for his charges, Eddie Choi leads by example. After a stellar junior career that saw Eddie play for the celebrated Toronto Marlies and named Rookie of the Year and MVP with Henry Carr, Eddie received a full four-year scholarship to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes. After graduating from OSU with an Economics degree, Eddie then went on to earn a Masters of Education from Canisius in Western New York. “To make the most of what you have, the desire to bring out your hidden talents requires heartfelt determination, a tireless work ethic and discipline,” explains Eddie. “You also need the support of parents, coaches, teachers and instructors – we all need good people around us working together to make us better. We challenge our students to minimize energy and to maximize power.”
